Igbo Leader Vows To Support Lalong Government

The Eze Igbo 11  of Jos, Prof Joseph Emmanuel Chukwudinma Obilum has vowed that the  Igbo residents  in Plateau  state will support the government of Bar. Simon Lalong.

Emmaunel Chukwudinma stated this in an interview with our correspondent at his palace in Jos yesterday in his sallah message to Muslim ummah.

He reiterated that the people expectations are very high from the new government but expressed confidence that the administration will deliver on his campaign promises.

Chukwudinma urged the government to swim by complimenting its campaign promises which is to rebuild the burnt Jos main market that has been abandoned by the past regime.

He called on them to exercise patience recounting plight of traders at the Jos main market which was burnt in 2002 as a result of Jos crisis, adding that since then government have overlooked the market.

According to him, the present administration rescue mission is to help reposition and transform the state.

Emmanuel Chukwudinma pointed out   that the main market is very central to the heart of the town and served as a focal point.

He explained further that this edifice attracts local and international in the area of revenue generation to the state.

Chukwudinma condemned the twin bomb blast in Jos that led to a complete blockage which brought untold hardship to traders, stressing that this singular act paralyzes business activities in the state capital.

According to him, the Igbos led a delegation to the governor pleading for the reopening of main roads that affected goods distribution within the state.

He promised to accord the government the needed cooperation to succeed, under the leadership of Governor Lalong to move the government forward by considering the welfare of the masses and should not believe in exclusives but in all inclusive administration.

He called on the people to remain calm and see Plateau as their home town where they help to transform for better service delivery.

Eze tasked non indigenes residents in Plateau state to take advantage of the accommodative and friendly to promote peaceful coexistence.

Eze Igbo called on the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase to provide adequate security for non indigenes in the state as they are always at the receiving end during crisis.

He stated this during a stakeholders meeting with the IGP on a visit to Plateau state police command

He said a clear manifestation was the recent bomb blast in Jos in Dilimi and Bauchi road were Igbo traders shops were vandalized and property worth millions destroyed.

The Eze Igbo pleaded with the police boss to come to their aid and commended the police commissioner, Nasiru oki for maintaining the peace on the Plateau despite violence experienced in some parts of the state.
