Jos Crisis: Igbos Mourns Ebere Chukwu Hope, Killed Around Unijos

The Igbo community residents in Plateau State are mourning the tragic killing of Mr Ebere Chukwu Hope , an indigene of Urualla LGC  of  Imo State.

Mr Ebere Chukwu met his untimely death around the University of Jos , Bauchi Road when some group of religion extremists suddenly attacked him inside Keke-Napep on his way to terminus route.

The Igbo Leader,HRH , Chief Sam Igwe Achi confirmed the physical brutal assault by some miscreants who use stones and dangerous weapons to attacked and  killed him at the spot .

According to him,the Igbo Community Association in Jos North LGC under the leadership of chief Chidi Onah is Mourning the Sudden Death of Mr Ebere Chukwu Hope , an indigene of Urualla LGC in Imo State.

He was allegedly murdered amidst the recent unrest on 1/4/26 near the Unijos on Bauchi Road.

His corpse has been deposited  at Evangelical Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Jankwano, Jos.

The Community is urging Authorities concerned to Investigate  by fishing out and  bring Perpetrators of this Criminal/ Senseless act to Justice.

Similarly,there secret  cases of  Violence killings going on in Jos North LGA of Plateau State since the Angwan Rukuba saga that led to the death of 30 persons and many sustained various degree of injuries during the mayhem .

He raised alarm over  reports of attacks  in Nigeria highlighting concerned about Public Safety and the need for effective law enforcement .

The Igbo Leader calls for governor Caleb Mutfwang support for his burial ceremony ,as the family cannot finance his burial rite to Imo state .

A prominent Igbo man is among the victims killed on Wednesday 1st April, 2026 during the curfew relaxation period of 7.00am to 3.00pm.

He is the one gruesomely killed in the viral video along Faringada/Katako junction by Unijos Permanent site wall and later recovered by the Police.

His name is Ebubechukwu Ihionu from Urualla Community in Ideato North LGA, Imo State and resident in Utan, Jos North LGA, Plateau State.

His death has thrown the entire Igbo Community Jos in a very painful mourning mood.

His body is currently deposited in the mortuary of Bingham University Teaching Hospital (Jankwano) Jos.

While the Igbo Community Jos sympathizes with the good people of Plateau State under the able leadership of His Excellency Barr Caleb Mannasseh Mutfwang, on the unwarranted terrorists attack, we are bringing this to the notice of the State Government, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) etc, for inclusion in their records of the victims of the terrorists attack.

We look forward to a total checkmating of these evil attacks and needless losses of human lives.
