The Crises in All Progressives Congress, (APC) Plateau State Chapter has taken a twist as stakeholders are threatening to kill the party if the Former Governor, Simon Lalong continues to promote Goemai’s agenda of bringing his kinsman to replace him as Minister.
However, factions alleged to be loyal to Yusuf Babayo Gagdi are bitterly disappointed with the Former Governor for his action taken to replace himself with the Former Director General of Industrial Training Funds, ITF, Joseph Ntung Ari.
One of the critical stakeholders, Dr Ponfa Audu expressed disappointment that the decision was against the interest of the state but it might rather kill the party in the state.
Ponfa Audu who made this known in a press conference held in Jos, called on the President to disregard any lists sent to him from Former Governor Simon Lalong in the overall interest of free and fair politics in Plateau state.
A chieftain of the APC who served in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council Protocol Committee also cautioned Rt Hon. Simon Bako Lalong to eschew ethnic politics by ensuring his replacement for the ministerial position.
Added that the nomination should go to other Local Government Areas or zones of the state for the sake of fairness and equity in sharing political slots meant for the state.
He lamented that nominating names from his Goemai extraction to replace him would certainly cause political disaffection among the party faithful.
Ponfa Audu said, if truly we are one family, then someone from Bassa, Jos East or Room should be considered more appropriate to fit into that particular position.
Ponfa Audu said, Rt Hon Lalong should not allow themselves to mislead his good reputation built so far within the political space.
