I Inherited N6,000 From Revenue Account-Chairman Doma Local Government

The Chairman of Doma Local Government Council of Nasarawa state, Architect Ahmed Usman Sarki Usman has confirmed that he inherited N6,000 in the revenue account of the Local Government.

 

The Council boss in an exclusive interview with selected Journalists in office, Hon Sarki expressed dismay over the amount generated weekly as revenue by the council.

 

“At least we are starting on a good footing by shooting up our Internally Generated Revenue with N50,000 weekly”.

 

With the presence of Olam Rice Farm in Rukubi, the chairman buttressed that he invited the team from Olam to see how the Local Government can benefit from the company in times of IGR.

 

The chairman said he upgraded about 6km streets a few weeks after assuming office, other achievements, according to him include the ongoing restructuring of the Local Government secretariat.

 

He said the restructuring was meant to create a conducive working atmosphere for civil servants. He added that the ongoing work was in line with his campaign covenant to improve infrastructure.

 

He listed some of the challenges to include unpaid two months salary and pension by his successor.
