It was a black Thursday for the Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Area, Arc Ahmed Sarki Usman as contractors handling Alhaji Abu Nagandu -former Masallacin Idi road contract mobilized two trucks blocking the exit and entrance of the Local Government Secretariat.
It took the swift intervention of some elders in the area to address the impasse which attracted onlookers and passersby.
The drivers and laborers alike say they would not remove their trucks from the entry and exit to the Local Government except if payments are made.
Insisting that the outgoing Chairman has just a few days to go.
The Chairman, Ahmed Sarki would not be reached for comment as at press time.
Recalling that the tenure of elected Local Government officials in Nasarawa State will expire on October 7th, 2024.
The truck owners blocked Doma local Government Secretariat gate, to claim their N6.5 million owned by Arch. Ahmad Sarki Usman.
One of the contractors said the Chairman engaged their service which runs into N6,500,000.00 m.
He further opined that they supply trucks of lateral without payment.
