A Heavy Rainstorm has killed 3 persons in three villages of Birnin kudu local government area of Jigawa state, the council chairman Alhaji Wada Faka said.
The chairman said the flood has destroyed many houses and washed away farm produce worth millions of Naira.
Faka said apart from the destruction of houses, properties, and food items were also destroyed by the flood as he sought the federal and state government intervention urgently to save the lives of the affected persons.
The chairman said the people need urgent support with food items, medications, and sleeping materials to avoid any occurrence of an outbreak.
Malamawa Gangare, a village with over 150 houses has been destroyed; however, the residents expressed gratitude to Allah for no death arising from the incidence.
A resident of the area Ali Muhammad said the area has never experienced such disaster since August 2007 when a similar flood swept away houses and farmlands.
He said this year’s flooding is the worst ever in the entire area.
The chairman of Birnin Kudu council area Alhaji Wada Faka said that the council is assessing the disaster caused by the flood while assuring that all necessary support would be made to the victims.
