Governor Lalong Urges Media To Hold The True Practices Of Journalism Ethics

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has urged journalists to always work in line with the ethics of true journalism professional conduct.

The Governor made this disclosure after receiving the 2016 award of; “Peace and Welfare,” conferred on him by the Reality Newspapers  maiden held at the Nana Country Home, Saturday evening.

Lalong represented by his Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPPA), Hon. Emmanuel Samuel Nanle.

Governor said Reality Newspapers has been known for its objective reportage and practices of true journalism, tasking the publisher Prince Valentine Adese, to maintain the practice of true journalism.

He said, it is expected that journalists; “will always to do their work on the right tracks as is required upon the members of the fourth estate of the realm.”

On his part the Director of Press Hon. Nanle, who was also a recipient of the 2016 Reality award of; “Media bridge,” expressed appreciations over the recognition done to his boss and his person.

According to him the political space in the state is wide enough to accommodate all divergent political views of Nigerians, saying “but that should be done without rancor.”

Nanle said his office is committed to doing that which is expected of it in relating with the media and the general public, stressing that the office will see how best it will lend its support to the publisher of the Reality online and print Newspapers.

Publisher of the Newspapers, Prince Valentine Adese, said they decided to celebrate the 12 years existence of the Reality Newspapers, together with the maiden award of excellence to those that have strive well in their endeavors.

The event returned presentation of awards to several other male and female personalities within and outside the Political landscape, residing in and outside Plateau State.
