The Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) and Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, Baltimore Dr. Patrick Dakum has said, Governor Simon Bako Lalong is yet to declare anybody as his anointed candidate for the 2023 general elections.
Dakum made this disclosure during his official opening of his campaign office in Jos on Monday, saying, he advised other aspirants claiming that the governor anointed them is fake and lies.
He said, he is a servant who God wants to use to deliver the people of Plateau state from the problem of insecurity and incessant attacks between herders and farmers clashes.
According to him, all the aspirants canvassing for votes are more qualified to hold the position of governor of Plateau State, but he himself is the most qualified to take the mantle of leadership to reposition the economic well-being of the state.
He explained further that anything constituted by the governor who has asked every aspirant to purchase a nomination form is not right but that is illegal.
Dr. Dakum revealed that his records have put him out as an excellent candidate above 65:8% of other aspirants, I want to lead plateau state to produce the best, so by my calculation on a lot of research on the challenges of the rural communities in the state.
He noted that the research team went around all the looks and crannies of the state and I believe that I’m an acceptable aspirant in APC with a passion to serve the state.
Dakum reiterated that his former position as the commissioner for information and communication spur him to understand the plight of the Plateau people.
He assured the people of his commitment to providing the dividends of democracy to the good people of the state if given the mandate come 2023.
He added that as someone who transverse the length and breadth of Nigeria I believe in the unity of this great country and to promote peaceful coexistence amongst all and Sundry if given the opportunity to govern the state.
