Governor Bala Mohammed Commences Payment Of Special Allowances To Health Workers Managing Covid-19 Patients

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala A. Mohammad, Kauran Bauchi has commenced payment of special allowances to health workers assigned to manage and treat patients of coronavirus in the state.

 

Under this development, the state government is paying the doctors managing the patients with fifty thousand naira, (N50,000), thirty thousand naira (N30,000) and twenty thousand naira N20,000 as special allowances depending on cadres of the officers.

 

In addition to the payment of the special allowances, the government has provided adequate personal protective equipment to health personnel at each the isolation centres.

 

With the 100-bed facility renovated at Bayara General Hospital, 80-bed facility at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, 40- bed facility at the Specialist Hospital and Federal Medical Center Azare, renovation of 2 wards which have been equipped through intervention of the 100 beds at Toro General Hospital, provision of a Special Treatment Center at the Teaching Hospital for severe cases with 8 ventilators and other facilities for emergency cases management, it is an indication that Bauchi State Government has the capacity to effectively manage and treat the patients of the novel virus.

 

Already, the support of Governor Bala Mohammed to the State Task Force on COVID-19 has yielded positive results as the committee has achieved modest successes in the war against the disease.

 

From the very first index case to the most recent statistics, the Committee has also achieved a remarkable success in keeping the pandemic under control.

 

As good citizens of our dear state, we must come together to support and cooperate with the government so as to consolidate on the achievements so far recorded especially on addressing the issues of advocacy, contact tracing, infrastructure and case management among others.
