Governor Al-Makura Commissions Nasarawa State University Hostel, Roads Network

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has commissioned multi-million inter-faculties road networks of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi aimed at boosting the institution standard of education and the state at large.

Al-makura while inaugurating the project in Keffi reinstated his commitment to continue to key in to good policies and projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state and Nigerian at large.

The governor, who said that his administration has invested some much in the education sector, adding that no society would achieved meaningful progress without sound education, hence the need for the university road network project.

He maintained that his administration is committed in transforming almost all sectors of the economy such as education, health, works, and agriculture, commerce among others in order to reduce poverty, unemployment and to boost the socio-economic development of the state.

“Today I’m commissioning  this University road network project and other projects executed by my administration in this institution aimed at bettering the standard of living of staff and students so as to improve on the standard of education in the state,” he said.

Governor Almakura while commissioning the 200 bed space male students hostel in the university said that his administration built hostels across the tertiary institutions in the school so as to reduce accommodation problems faced by the students.

“I’m excited today to commission this hostel so as to reduce the hardship been faced by students in terms of accommodation and to improve on the standard of living of the students,” he added.

Al-Makura called for maintenance culture towards government properties in order to ensure their durability for the overall development of the country.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof.Muhammad Akaro Mainoma commended governor Al-makura for investing massively in the education sector and called for its sustenance

Mainoma applauded Tertiary Education Trust Fund and other well spirited individuals for their donation towards uplifting the standard of education in the institution and the state at large.

He assured the governor of the management readiness to continue to key in to policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the staff and the students.

The Gov. Almakura also commissioned school of Postgraduate Studies of the institution which was built and donated to the institution by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The governor also inaugurated the Theater Arts Auditorium constructed under Normal 2011/2012 Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) intervention.
