Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Thursday swore in the Six-Man Tingno-Chobo Judicial Commission of Enquiry to investigate the recent civil unrest in four communities of Tingnon Dutse, Tito, Sabon Layi and Bagasi in Lamurde Local Government area.
Similarly, the Governor has also presided over the swearing in of two State High Court Judges, Justice Kenson Lawson and Justice Musa Usman and directed the State Chief Judge to open court sessions in the state in line with the directive by the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Governor Umaru Fintiri at a ceremony which held in Banquet Hall Government House, Yola reminded those sworn in on the sacredness of the oath they have taken in discharging their new responsibilities and called on them to put effort in that regard.
He charged the two High Court Judges to ensure speedy dispensation of justice and described the Judicial Arm of government as respectful and knowledgeable, calling for energy between the bench and the bar for better service delivery.
He enumerated among others terms of reference of Tingno-Chobo Judicial Commission of Enquiry to include investigate the root causes of the unrest, established persons responsible for the incidence and investigate and determined the role of security during the crisis among others.
In their separate vote of thanks, on behalf of those sworn in, Juctice Hafsatu Abdurrahman and Justice Kenson Lawson expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointment and promised to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
Those sworn as members of Tingno-Chobo Judicial Commission of Enquiry include Justice Hafsatu Abdurrahman Chairperson, while Barrister Aji Kamale, Akanmodu Abayomi, Professor Kalip Bulus Filli, Yakubu Sambo and Aliyu Mohammed will serve members.
Highlight of the ceremony was administering oath of office and allegiance on the Six-Man Tingno- Chobo Judicial Commission of Enquiry and the two State High Court Judges by the State Chief Judge, Justice Ishaya Kida Banu.
