Allow Rector Imapoly to Complete Her Tenure

The former Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Dr. Zainab Ahmed has sought sixty percent affirmative action and gender equality amongst the womenfolk.

Dr. Zainab gave the disclosure during the 2021 Press week organized by the Nasarawa State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

She appealed to the state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule to consider women in key positions in the political space of Nasarawa State.

Dr Zainab Ahmed hinted that women were relegated to the background with the fragments of key positions been occupied by men.

The former SSG appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to appoint a man as the state Commissioner for Women Affairs.

“What a man can do, a woman can do better, for political office is our right or is it because we are in a man’s world*.

However, she indicated that women constituted forty percent of the population yet produces only one Deputy Chairman in Lafia, the state capital.

“How many women are Local Governments out of the thirteen Local Governments, how many are heading our Boards and agencies “?

Dr. Zainab Ahmed appreciates the Governor for appointing the first female Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir,.

On the imbroglio that leads to the closure of Isa Mustapha Agwai I, Polytechnic, Lafia, The former SSG called on the menfolk for the sake of God to allow Dr. Justina Anjide to complete her tenure as the Rector of the Polytechnic.

“Men would not allow her to succeed because women in Nasarawa are in men’s world”.

The state Commissioner of education, Fati Sabo Jimeta lauded the organizers of the program tagged “NAWOJ Kitchen.

The Director of Administration and Supply, Mrs. Ewuga Comfort who represented the Commissioner of education expressed concern over the dearth of African cuisines.

The wife of the state Governor, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule admonished the womenfolk to promote their Local dishes at all times.

Represented by the wife of the SSG, Hajiya Zainab Aliyu Ubandoma urged women to be in the forefront to keep their Local dishes floating.
