The Plateau South Senatorial District ,National Assembly, Senator Simon Bako Lalong has sponsored a bill aimed to upgrade the College of Agriculture Garkawa to a Federal University of Agriculture Garkawa to promote agrian communities of the state .
The Plateau commended the the Sen.Lalong for presenting a bill aimed at improving the well-being of his constitutent in the area of human capital development.
The College of Agriculture is located in Mikang Local Government of Plateau State .
Senator Lalong received commendation for his effective representation at the Senate hallow Chamber’s as he continued to attract Federal presence to the State under the leadership of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu regime.
Chairman of the group, Hon. Jerry Pam, elated by the strides of Lalong at the National Assembly, called on critics to shun politics of bitterness and support the lawmaker for more effective representation.
“We use this medium to employ political actors in Plateau who have embarked on charactered assassination to desist from making any attempt to tarnish or destroy the good, hard earned reputation of Lalong who served the State well during his tenure as governor”, Pam said.
He continued: “We salute the courage and determination of Senator Simon .
“The bill which has gone through first reading in the Senate and has attracted the public interest for the actualization of this laudable institution which will contribute to food security in Plateau State and Nigeria at large”, Pam said.
He called on all National Assembly members, representing the State, to support Lalong in ensuring that the bill comes to actualization.
“We also appreciate other well meaning Plateau sons and daughters who are making sure that Plateau becomes an envy of other States in terms of federal presence and other aspects of development in the State”, he said.
The group said they will resist the current campaign of calumny against Lalong, on social media, calling on the opposition to focus on developing the state rather than plotting the downfall of a performing Senator.
“We will not forget his strategic role as Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council where despite the misgivings, he stood firm to ensure that Plateau does not miss out at the national level.
“Today, he has continued to play a significant role as a member of the Renewed Hope government of President Bola Tinubu and keeps opening doors for Plateau sons and daughters at various levels.
“We are proud of his achievements and look back with fulfillment that many policies and projects that he initiated are being enjoyed by Plateau citizens today and will last even when he is out of office”, the group said.
