FG Distributes Relief Materials Worth N350M To IDPs In Bauchi

NEMA-relief-items-being-off-loaded-at-the-Teachers-Village-Camp-for-the-IDPS-from-Kukawa-Gubio-and-Ngala-14th-January-2015The Presidential Initiative for the Northeast (PINE) National on Wednesday, donated relief materials worth N350 Millions to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bauchi state.

Presenting the items, The PINE Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma said PINE had provided relief items for distribution, targeting over 16,000 IDPs in 8 local government areas of the state.

Danjuma said PINE distributed none food items and food items which includes rice, maize, mats, blankets , dozens of textile materials, sanitary pads vegetables oil, palm oil to IDPs in the said local government areas.

The staff officer, said PINE had designated 8 Local Government areas of Dambam, Zaki, Katagum, Darazo,Alkaleri, Gamawa, Bauchi, and Kirfi Local government Areas to facilitate smooth assistance to the IDPs.

He added that PINE had provided food items, mats and clothing materials for distribution to the affected persons in various communities in the state. adding that communities have provide succour from other places the number is over strengthening ,the number of IDPs are quite enormous that is why we are targeting over 16,000 of them

He noted that the gesture was to assist the displaced persons and to mitigate their sufferings and it should be a continue process,

It has been reported that hundreds of families, displaced by Boko Haram insurgency in Borno Yobe and Adamawa states have been taking shelter in Bauchi state being border the three most hit states of Borno Yobe and Adamawa

Responding on behalf of the IDPs Salamatu Mohammed who could not relocate her husband, A mother of three, express her appreciation to the Federal Government for the Initiative, she said this will give them a sense of Belonging, but pray to get back to her home town soonest.
