Farmers /Fulani Clash Leaves One Dead In Sule Tankarkar Jiagwa, 35 Fulani houses Burnt

Farmers and Fulani clash at Danzomo community in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa state have led to the death of one Fulani boy as well as burning of 35 houses belonging to Fulani communities.

The Director Special Service Malam Zubairu Ahmed who confirmed the incident said six locally made food stores were burnt down to ashes.

He added that also animal feed was destroyed by the farmers in a reprisal attack against the Fulani’s whom they allegedly allowed their animals to graze on their farmlands and destroyed their farm produce worth thousands of naira.

He said the police have arrested seven persons in connection and that the people arrested were among those who set fire on the 35 Fulani hamlets, he also added that investigation is still going on.

He added that the state government has disbursed six million Naira to Fulani families who lost their properties during the incidence.

In a related development, the state government also disbursed N1.7million to business communities in Babura Local Government who lost their properties during the recent clash between the community and the customs officials which took place some week ago.

It was gathered a customs official killed one businessman and properties worth millions of naira belonging to the businessmen in the area were destroyed during the protest.

The Jigawa state government disbursed that money to eleven people who happened to have lost their goods during the clash.

The director, therefore, charged the communities in the state to desist from taking laws into their hands, as he urged them to leave in peace.
