Exposed: Outgoing Bauchi Government In Alleged Last Minute Allocation of Lands To Political Brass, Judges, Others

Barely few days to the end of his government, Bauchi Governor Mohammed Abubakar is alleged to be giving allocation to top Federal and State political and civil appointees and High Court Judges with the state Chief Judge and Grand Khadi as beneficiaries.

 

Univesalreportersng.com learnt that the Governor has handed over the job of giving out the lands to the Director General, Bauchi Geographic Information system (BAGIS), Baba Abubakar Suleiman. It is instructive to know that the law creating the BAGIS office is not yet to be signed, casting doubts as to whether the agency can function before the law is signed by the Governor.

 

It is also imperative to know that throughout the tenure of Governor Mohammed Abubakar, the Land Use Allocation Committee, LUAC meeting did not take place. According Land Use Act of 1978, the LUAC meeting must always take place before any allocation is made. Findings by this medium reveals that the last time LUAC meeting took place in Bauchi State was when Alhaji Aminu Hammayo was Commissioner of Lands, under the administration of Isah Yuguda.

 

Meanwhile, findings by this medium indicate that the land being allocated to these Judges is the area that has been designated for the building of houses for Judges and Commissioners in the State.

 

Impeccable sources told this medium that the allocation of the plots to, especially, the Judges is deliberately done in order to forestall any future litigation since the judges are involved.

 

Also, universalreportersng.com learnt that the N57 million which was approved by the Governor for BAGIS staff training and procurement of equipments has developed wings.

 

It was gathered that there was neither staff training nor purchase of equipment for the agency was done by the Director General Baba Suleiman Abubakar.
