- Director Department Of Dams And Reservoir Operations, Dr. Emmanuel Adanu At The Center Of The Scandal
The Director of the Department Dams and Reservoir Operations, Dr. Emmanuel Ada Adanu is currently at the moment enmeshed in a falsification scandal. It is gathered by universalreporters.info that Dr. Adanu have allegedly falsified his date of First Appointment three times all in bid to extend his retirement date.
Nominal roll documents available to universalreporters indicates that the said Director who gave his date of birth as 28/03/1954, earlier as a Deputy Director, when he was on SGL 16, has given his date of his first appointment, as 10/5/1978 while the space for date of confirmation of appointment was vacant as it was not filled, while his date of Present appointment was 1/1/2000 according to the nominal roll records.
Meanwhile in another nominal roll documents also as a Deputy Director, he filled in his in the data as follows; date of first appointment 5/10/1978, while the space for date of confirmation of appointment was empty.
Meanwhile the documents went further to reveal more alleged falsification by Dr. Adanu when he became a Director of the Department of Dams and Reservoir Operations under grade level 17. In another nominal roll forms, his details showed that his date of first appointment was 12/07/1978, while his date of confirmation of appointment showed 01/01/2008.
However, in another mouth blowing forgery by the same man as a Director, indicated that his date of First appointment was different also just as he did while serving as a deputy director, this time around his date of first appointment showed 06/05/1991 while his date of confirmation of appointment showed 06/05/1993.
It was gathered from sources within the department that if 1978 was actually date of first appointment, Dr. Adanu will be completing his mandatory 35 five years in the service this year 2013, which will make it compulsory for him to retire. But with the last nominal roll form which he filled his date of first appointment as 06/05/1992; he still has more years to stay.
As gathered by Universalreporters.info this illicit act in which Dr. Adanu is alleged to be carrying out, is done in collaboration with the Office of Head of Service and Federal Civil Service Commission, who are the custodian of all the records of service of every Federal Civil Servants.
Sources within the Department of Dams and Reservoir Operations, told universalreporters.info that the falsification scam is being carried out by Adanu in connivance with the Office of Head of Service and Federal Civil Service Commission.
Meanwhile, aside the falsification scam, the Director is also allegedly involved in a financial scandal, where it is gathered that for an Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA for small earth dams Projects which is to be handled by the Departments of Dams and Reservoir Operations the Director, is alleged to be requesting for a fee of N7.5 Million from the Honourbale members of the House of Representatives before an EIA will be done in the their constituency where the project will be cited.
However, it was also gathered that about 30 House of Representatives members have already paid the said amount; meanwhile sources in the Presidency said that the government don’t charge money or any fee for EIA, when the project is intended to be done for the people or community; that the EIA fees are being taken care by the government.
For instance, it was alleged that the Director, is now focused on projects which he has interest, such projects are the ones that are in his state and the Minister’s state. Moreover concerned staff in his department said that the Director is running the Department as his personal estate, as majority of the contracts supplies done in the department, is run by his cronies and friends.
Universalreporters.info learnt that these frauds being done by Dr. Adanu, he is enjoying the backing of the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Reng Ochekpe his inlaw.
