Emergence Of Dr. Nentawe, Tears Plateau APC Apart, Youth Rally  Support For Sarpia

Yakubu Busari

Aggrieved aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have said, “no to the imposition of Dr Nentawe Yilwatda ,” as the party flag bearer as they are heading to court to challenge the kangaroo primaries of his selection by the party.

The crisis is deepening with the selection of Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda the candidate of the APC, the issue had generated so much controversy among the stakeholders that are seeing the exercise as the imposition of a candidate.

Arising from their consultation, the youths condemned government anointed candidates of the APC in Plateau State by a group under the APC state chapter.

They have concluded plans to demonstrate the outcome of the primary held at Langfield, Jos South Local Government Area of the state saying if that decision will not be reversed for the overall interest of the state, APC would lose to the opposition party.

Spokesman of the group, John Danladi said, why the party Youths wing is calling for peaceful demonstrations in solidarity with Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro Dakon is because “we don’t want conflict arising from the party primaries and which is why we are solely behind Sarpia decision to approach the court for the interpretation.

Danladi said, the reasons for them taking the decision of supporting the aggrieved aspirants of the APC was due to the manner the exercise went, we observed that there was no Congress held that very day but he was announced as winner.

He explained further that, as youth wings of the APC, we want justice and say no to the imposition, impunity, and lack of internal democracy, so we will resist vehemently any attempt to undermine our collective interest.

Danladi frowned that politics goes with transparent conduct and the candidate must be a popular person to win the heart of the electorate.

According to him,” we are not against anyone winning an election to govern the state but when someone sits in the comfort of his house and takes a decision that affects the overall interest of the state, it shall suffer setback “.

He stressed that Plateau state is more than an individual so we must work together to achieve meaningful development in the state no matter what, we brought Lalong in 2015 in spite of what Jang insisted in bringing GNS Pwajok, the state spoke with one voice then.

Danladi called on the Plateau to come out in mass and welcome Dr. Sarpia on 17th August, 2022 at the Federal High Court Jos when the matter will come up for mention before Honourable Justice Dorcas Agishi.

He noted that as party loyal supporters, we employ our ardent men and women to stand firm and support him as a true democrat for not taking laws into his hand but following the due process of the law.
