Embattled Chairman Of Langtang North LGA, Ubandoma Lampoons Plateau APC For Truncating Democracy

The Embattled Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau State Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma has lampooned the All Progressive Congress (APC) government as undemocratic even when tenure was running as council Chairman.

He said,”my own father late Chief Solomon Dashup Lar is still alive in his Local Government because his spirit is still with us, being the last boy that served him based on what he believed and stand for, democracy he never wanted oppression in his life. So I will stand for what is right and continue fighting injustice”.

Hon Laven raised concerns that as you can see in any victory we achieved, we come down to this house to celebrate and remember what Baba Lar stands for.

According to him, So this victory is for our late father, and I thank God for his memory his foundation is going to be launched on the 24th of May 2022.

Laven explained further,”You can imagine what a coincidence, when I was sworn in after they have deprived me on the 9th October 2019, was when he was 6 years of his death, that same date the spirit of Baba strikes Governor Simon Bako Lalong I was sworn in.

However, the Late Solomon Daushep Lar’s spirit is hovering around and the same spirit now has made it to give me my judgment now two or three days before his memorial lecture. So, he is all over me for whatever I am doing.

According to Laven,”This house is very significant to me because it is the only place I have to come and cry when I am in distress and in happiness. So the Solomon Lar house is the house of democracy, is the house for the people”.

I gave God the glory because of my own case with the state Government I have always triumphed over them because God is With me. Yes, this is like eight-time we have been in the court with them and they only defeated me in one at the tribunal which they want to use to deprive the Tarok people of their victory, but we preempt them earlier, knowing fully well that if I don’t go to the tribunal there was a set up by the state government, which we cannot qualified to go to the appeal in which something funny and I went to Court and the appellant Court said No, they should listen to my case.

That was the first and the second I went back to the appeal I got it. They went again we apply, I got it. So I have been winning them all through. My case is a constitutional matter and there is no how they can get away with it. It has to do with your stand-in for what is right and nobody is against the law.

This victory is the victory for democracy and victory for unborn children that if tomorrow you look at it they would use me as an example. Always portray what is right. You Journalists are the ones who won this battle because you have been reporting it the way it is.

I so much believe in the press because in democracy Judiciary and the media work hand in hand. I must tell my story because you have always been there for me, and your reporting is not to cover me but your reporting issues the way it is!

The Governor and the Government of Plateau should know that they can trample on the will of the people and you cannot subvert democracy, and if democracy has been subverted Governor Lalong cannot be in power today because Senator Jonah Jang has all it takes to deprive him.

I have been democratically elected by my people to serve for a three-year tenure. So no Governor has the power to truncate democracy because of his own interest. Kor, we must not belong to one political party because the opposition is allowed in a democracy.

I want to thank the press for being part of my struggle right from my student activism till when I started supporting  Lalong and he is my Governor so let us play the games according to the rules. Is not about him or me, is about democracy.

Is about the constitution of this country that gives the right to every arm of Government to operate. So as a Governor he should be playing his role and allow me to do my own.

So today is the victory for all let’s work towards sustaining the nascent democracy built by our late father Chief Solomon Lar, and you can see how his spirit is resonating within us the Tarok people and whether you like it or not Langtang North and south is PDP.
