Dream Cut Short, 27-Year-Old Bauchi Man, Rotji Lazarus Dies Ahead Of Plan To Travel Abroad The Next Day

A 27-year-old Bauchi man, Rotji Lazarus, has died after being knocked down by a moving vehicle a day before his scheduled journey to the Benin Republic for work.

Late Rotji Lazarus was smashed by a car driving at night without light around the POWA shops, Police Barracks, Yelwa in Bauchi State.

According to a source, immediately after the car knocked down late Rotji Lazarus, the driver ran away and approached Rafin Zurfi, on Tafawa-Baleawa Road.

Late Rotji graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi for his Higher National Diploma and postgraduate Diploma in tourism and leisure management at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi in Benue State.

Before his death, Rotji Lazarus was producing fruit juice at the POWA shops, Yelwa, Bauchi.

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, mourns the family of the special adviser, Lazarus Buba, over the death of their son, Rotji.

He made the condolence message during the funeral service of the late Rotji Lazarus at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) LCC Sabon Kaura, RCC Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The commissioner described late Rotji Lazarus as a gentle, humble, silent boy and someone who always respected and obeyed his parents and people.

According to the Commissioner, “My last communication with the late Rotji, was on Sunday, immediately after church service, then I moved to their house for greetings, and he cooked food for us.”

Also described late Rotji as someone who always struggled to get something for himself by involvement in to business.

In his sermon, Rev. Gombiman Samaila took his reading from the book of 1 John 5:1-5, Ecclesiastes 2:1, with the theme: The power to overcome the war.

The preacher encouraged the congregation to love God and to succeed in everything.
