Crisis In Plateau PDP Ward Congress As Aspirant Petitions PDP Over Imposition Of Candidate By Jang
Plateau Southern Senatorial district of PDP, has petitioned the state chapter of the party on the ward congresses held over the weekend .
The director campaign organization of Godfrey Miri for Gubernatorial aspirant ,Mr Gideon Yoila stated this during an interview with some Journalists where he described the exercise as illegal.
According to him, they have taken the matter to the national headquarters of the PDP hoping that the matter would be addressed in order to avoid the imposition of a candidate by the state Governor Jonah David Jang.
He pointed out that,” our fear is not to allow the party leader in state to hijack the selection of ward delegates.
” We alerted the national headquarters on this matter earlier and now we have been vindicated with the irregularities and high cases impositions by the governor .
He said ,he was physically present at the ward congresses from 6 o’clock to 5 PM but that nothing was done to signify that the elections conducted in various wards visited.
Yoila, therefore, called on the national secretariat of the party to use its power in making sure that the wishes of the Plateau electorates are always heard instead of allowing itself to be manipulated by the wishes of the state governor.
He emphasized that PDP cannot afford to loose Plateau state owning to the political miscalculation of the state governor.
Yoila vowed that plateau people are ready to restrict any of imposition of unpopular candidates
He expressed optimism that, “if the congresses are allowed to be held under a free and fair atmosphere ,Godfrey Miri will definitely image as the candidate of the people instance of imposition planned by the governor.”
