Political Skirmishes In Lafia: Supporters Of Ex-IGP, Supporters Of Wadada, Languishing In Lafia Prison

The Director General of the former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has averred that scores of loyalists to Mohammed Abubakar Adamu are languishing in Lafia Correctional Center. He said they were arrested following the recent attack on the convoy of the wife of the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada at Lafia Palace.
During an exclusive interview at the campaign office of former IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu also revealed that when he visited the correctional facility in Lafia he also saw supporters of Wadada of the ruling All Progressives Congress alongside his people of the Social Democratic Party, the SDP.
He blamed the Nigeria police for the random arrest of innocent people, the Director General said those that were arrested by police at Mai Shayi Point are innocent citizens that were arrested behind Total filling station as well as some suspect from Angwan Sha’uu.
Urging the Commissioner of Police to do the needful, stating that SDP supporters are not part of the skirmishes of the destruction of Wife of the Governorship candidate of the APC at the palace. During her visit.

Abdullahi Yammani said Maifata was the first to disrupt their supporters by telling them to stop praying for the success of IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu while reciting the holy Quran in an organised way.
He said the party will not stop praying for the success of their mentor and for the peaceful co-existence of the people of Lafia Municipal and the State capital.
“The coordinator of Wadada,Maifata is trying to stop our people to pray for former IGP success and our people had to shun his intimidation,he added.
The D.G averred that the coordinator of Wadada has taking them to court ,he also informed the court that he withdraw his case and our supporters resisted the intimidation that he should continued with matter.
Abdullahi Yammani said that the SDP has also drag the Commissioner for Local Government to court for disrupting their program.He declare.
When asked whether the former IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has formally joined the SDP in the State,the D.G did not answer the question instead systematically dodged away ,saying the party will answer the question if the time comes.
The Commissioner for Local Government,Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs,Hon.Aminu Muazu Maifata in a telephone interview debunked the development,Saying the people within the area had an agreement not to organized a political rally for the interest of peace.
“When I arrive close my house,I enquired what was happening without knowing that the gathering was all about,they are reciting the Holy Quran,while those standing in the front are insulting my father,calling us names and my younger brothers drag them to court.
“i was at the court to withdraw the matter for the overall interest of peace,he added that Gwarzo and some of the supporters of former IGP are ready for crisis.
