College Of Education Akwanga Named Convocation Square After Governor Al-Makura

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has described the introduction of entrepreneurship in school curriculum as a policy at the right direction. The Governor who was ably represented by his Deputy, His Excellency Silas Agara commended the Association of Nigeria Teacher’s, Stating that the theme of the conference “Creativity and Inventions,” The role of functional education and the target group.

The Governor averred that the team of the conference captured the reality of the current trend, which he said creativity holds the key to economic development encompassing teaching technique as he said the role of education can never be over emphasized.

He asserted that the present regime under Governor Al-Makura accorded greater premium on education, adding that the establishment of Taal Model schools was aimed at pursuing an aggressive developmental roadmap for the generation yet unborn.

The Deputy Governor ascribed the naming of the conference square after Al-Makura as an indelible in the annals of history of the state.

The Provost College of Education in her welcome address at the 10th Annual National Conference of Association of Nigerian Teachers held in Akwanga commended the resilience and doggedness of Governor Al-Makura for supporting the institution in all ramifications.

She called on Youths to bring out their inventive usefulness to the bear, the Provost, Rebecca Isaac Umaru applauded the state Governor for the construction of 2 blocks of hostel accommodation, adding that the project would go a long way in ameliorating the plight of students in the institution, she eulogized the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for embarking on series of projects.

Professor Tim Agboghoruma of the Delta state University, Abraka while speaking on the theme of the conference “Creativity and Invention, The role of functional Education To The Target Group identifies high level of corruption as a major setback to the development of the education sector and the nation, he also called for a concerted effect by those at the behest of affairs, advising on the need for sound education ,He further buttressed that functional education would enhanced creativity and inventions.
