The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Tuesday elected a new president in person of Supo Ayokunle.
The new president who is a reverend from the Nigerian Baptist Convention takes over the mantle of leadership from Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, whose tenure just ended.
The CAN election which was conducted at the National Ecumenical Center, Abuja, saw Rev. Ayokunle defeating Joseph Otubu of the Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, MCCSW with total votes of 54 against 28 which his rival had.
The outgoing president Ayo Oritsejafor, announced the result as he also declared Mr. Ayokunle the winner.
