The Executive Chairman of Obi Local Government Area, Hon. Isa Mohammed Sani has called on all eligible voters of Obi Local Government Area between ages of 18 and above to fully participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Voter Registration Exercise commencing Monday, 18th August 2025.
He pointed out that this is not only a civic duty but also a constitutional right, as provided in Section 77(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), which affirms that “every citizen of Nigeria who has attained the age of eighteen years shall be entitled to be registered as a voter for election.”
Hon. Isa Mohammed Sani urges traditional rulers, religious leaders, community heads, youth organisations, and women groups to mobilise their members to registration centres.
He emphasized that no eligible citizen is left unregistered in the present exercise.
The executive Chairman, however, appealed to the electorate to cooperate with the Electoral umpire to ensure the success of the CVR in the Local Government.
