Be Agent of Consolidation/Unity, Governor Al-Makura Urges New Council Chairmen

Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has called on the thirteen elected Local Government Chairmen to be agents of consolidation and Unity in their respective Councils.

The governor averred that only a broad-based Council boss would foster unity at the grassroots, stating that accommodating all and sundry became imperative as this would promote religious and tribal unity.

Describing the State as a peaceful State, Calling on them to abide by the modus operandi which remains the fortress of the third tier of Government.

The governor appreciated the Council Chairmen for exhibiting maturity.

“This gives me sense of pride and optimism” he added.

The Chairmen of the thirteen Local Government has again called on governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to vie for senate Nasarawa South senatorial district.

The spokesperson of the elected Chairmen and the Chairman of Lafia Local Government, Hon.Aminu Maifata said the call to contest for senate became necessary, he added.

Maifata stated that the State governor had done better in the development of the State for that deserved another  chance to represent Nasarawa South at the red chamber come 2019.
