The Bauchi State police command said, it has arrested members of kidnapping and armed robbery gangs and recover arms and livestock.
The livestock recovered according to the police spokesperson include; 81 cows and 21 Sheep valued at N12,665,000.
In a statement issued by the Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that the arrest followed the earlier arrest by Police detectives attached to Soro division of a suspect, Rabiu Bello of Dirya village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
He added that discreet investigation by the Command Anti-Kidnapping unit led to the arrest of two other gang members; Lawan Tukur alias Dogo of Kafin Liman in Bauchi and Rabiu Ahmadu who hailed from Tsafe in Zamfara State.
SP Mohammed said that the suspects specialise in kidnapping for ransome, Armed robbery and Cattle rustling.
He added that the gang operates along Zamfara, Kano, Bauchi,Jigawa, Niger and Plateau States axis.
According to him,One AK 47 rifle,Four magazines, 250 Live 7.62 mm ammunition.
He said that the case is under investigation and the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
Meanwhile another person, Alhaji Mato magaji Kyata of Burra District in Ningi Local Government was reported to have been kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen from his farm along Burra East.
Police spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed said that the victim’s whereabouts is still unknown but efforts are being intensified to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
He therefore called on members of the public with useful information to report to the nearest police station for prompt response.
