The commissioner for local government, Hon.Aliyu Tijjani has debunked the allegation raised by the Nigeria Union of Teachers accusing the ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs for diverting money meant for salary by the ministry.
The commissioner described the position of NUT as a shear blackmail that not what was accrued to the state from the federation account, Hon.Aliyu Tijjani said the new dimension taken by the ministry by given vivid detail of what was share by the thirteen local governments.
“As you can see we are given detail of May salary allocated to the thirteen local government is a clear indication transparency remain out watchword”.
The commissioner said money to the tune of N1, 039,947,358.88 would be share as June wage bill to local government workers, he gave the breakdown as follows.
1.Awe got N47,123,170.11 with a 58 percentage
2.Akwanga local government was accrued N39,887,922.52 translated to 35 percent
3.Doma local government got the total sum of N47,133,170.21,the workers are expected to receive 33 percent of their salary
4.Karu local government got the sum of N56,279,168.27 which translate to 37 percent of her salary
5.Keana received N39,151,192.97 with 47 percentage
6.Kokona local government got N43,253,937.08 with 41 percent payment of their salary.
7.Keffi got the total sum of N37,253,083.44 translated to 40 percent to be accrued to workers.
8.Lafia got the highest amount of N68,598,940.13 which translate to 29 percent of their salary
9.Nasarawa local government got the sum of N64,087,508.71,this translate to 40 percent of June salary.
10.Nasarawa Eggon local council got N46,436,844.71,translating 28 percent of
11.Toto local government accrued was N48,550,028.21 translating to 40 percent of June wage bill.
11.Obi local government got N45,622,532.05
