Bauchi State first lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed says it has empowered thousands of women across the twenty local government areas of the state for poverty reduction among women.
The first lady was speaking at the graduation ceremony of two hundred women trained on soybeans by Almuhibba foundation in partnership with MEDA, Saturday in Bauchi
Represented by the chairperson of Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency (BASOVCA), Hon Hassana Arkila, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed said her office will not relent in supporting women to engage in different skills acquisition programmes as part of an effort to minimize the level of poverty in the society.
She said she is committed to the welfare and well-being of women and children, especially the vulnerable groups to improve their living standards.
The first lady challenged the graduands to make good use of the skills acquired at the training in order to contribute towards tackling malnutrition in the state.
She, therefore, appreciated the support of Governor Bala Mohammed to women and children and assured him of their unflinching support for the success of his administration.
Also speaking, the Director of Almuhibba foundation, Hajiya Ladi described the partnership between the foundation and MEDA as a welcome development.
She applauded the participants and other industrial women for engaging in useful ventures which will significantly improve their economic status.
