Army Kills, 2 Captured 2 Bandits, Recovered Arms, Motorbikes, Charms In Bauchi

The 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi state has on Saturday kill two armed suspected bandits captured two recovered arms and motorbike from the suspects in a gun battle at jejin dutshen Zaki of Ningi Local area of the state.

Addressing newsmen at Jejin Dutshen Zaki Forest on Sunday, the Assistant Director Army Public Relations 33 Artillery Brigade Major Joseph Adekunle Afolashade said the troops on Saturday carried out  a fighting patrol to kanawa village, rugan Abdulsalam Diwa and dutshen Zaki respectively of Ningi Local Government Area  against cattle rustlers and armed bandits.

“At JeJin Dutshen Zaki the troops come in contact with armed bandits or kidnappers who open fire on them this follow by exchange of fire between our troops and the bandits, the exchange lasted over 1 and half hour at the end our gallant troops over powered the bandits and succeeded in killing 2 of the kidnappers while 2 of the bandits were captured alive by the troops”.

According to him, the items recovered includes 5 AK 47 rifles 4 Bajaj motorcycles, 23 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 2 mobile telephone handsets , some rings and a bag containing local charms were recovered from the bandits, food stuff and clothes.

Mr Joseph  said the Element of 33 Artillery Brigade sector 2 locatedat Burra, in Ningi Local of the state will continue to operate in all over  the  forest which includes Yankari forest in Alkaleri, Burra forest in Ningi, lame forest in Toro LGA, and Buzun forest in Ganjuwa LGA.

Updating the general public on the ongoing military operation in the state Major Joseph said it could be recalled on June 16 2016 our troops recorded success were 2 kidnappers were killed 3 kidnap females were rescued and 2 AK 47 rifles and other items were recovered.

Major Folashade however assured that the military are on top of the operations  to secured the security  of peace loving Nigerians.
