Agricultural Support: Lawmaker Distributes 1,260 Fertilizer, Farm Tools To Boost Productivity

Rural farmers across the nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District have received a major boost as Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe rolled out the distribution of essential agricultural inputs to support local farming activities this rainy season.
A total of 810 bags of fertilizer (50kg each) and 450 cartons of herbicides—containing 12 one-litre containers per carton were distributed to the benefiting communities, making up 1,260 items in the first phase of the initiative.
The distribution which took place in Mayo-Belwa LGA was supervised by Katawan Boniface, the campaign team Director-General.
Addressing journalists at the event, Boniface confirmed that each of the nine LGAs received 90 bags of fertilizers and 50 cartons of herbicides.
He emphasized that the selection process was carefully managed to ensure that only vulnerable, smallholder farmers benefitted, cutting across political affiliations and ethnic backgrounds.
“Senator Binos Yaroe is committed to serving every constituent, regardless of political party or background,” Boniface said.
“This is just the first batch for the 2025 rainy season. In total, we plan to reach about 4,650 farmers, 50 per Ward across the 93 Wards in Adamawa South.”
He highlighted the Senator’s agricultural background as a driving force behind the timely intervention, stressing how important and critical is early access to farm inputs during planting season.
In his remarks, Raymond Robinson, the Senator’s Team Coordinator for Guyuk LGA, described the initiative as a long-standing tradition.
“This is something Senator Binos does every year, and we ensure transparency by rotating beneficiaries so more farmers get support.
Peasant farmers in urgent need of these inputs are our priority.” he stressed
Other representatives from Lamurde, Jada, Toungo, Shelleng, Demsa, Numan, Guyuk, and Ganye LGAs echoed similar sentiments, pledging to uphold fairness and accountability in the distribution process.
Gibson Ma’aji, representing Lamurde LGA, confirmed that strict selection criteria were applied to ensure that only genuine farmers received the inputs. “We have an effective mechanism to identify the most deserving farmers. Our goal is to support productivity and improve food security,” he said.
The initiative, fully sponsored by Senator Yaroe, was implemented in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Focus Stability Limited (Lot G40z/2025).
Farmers are expected to use the inputs for the intended purpose, with stakeholders across the district expressing optimism for a productive farming season ahead. Additional batches of inputs are expected to be distributed in the coming weeks.
