Nasarawa state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has tasked political appointees in the state to always adhere to maintenance culture and fear of God as their guiding principle at all times, the Governor stated this while declaring open a Retreat on “The challenges of change in the delivery of Good Governance in Nasarawa state to political appointees.

The Governor while addressing the broad spectrum populace at a workshop organized by the Government of Nasarawa state in collaboration with savannah centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development tasked all appointees to inculcate the virtues of the ruling All Progressives Change mantra of accountability, probity and openness as their watchword.

Describing Nasarawa state as a political laboratory of the present APC to succeed, He further attested that the compositions of the new crop of political appointees marks a new dawn in Nasarawa state.

“What we are witnessing today is not a talk-show rather is a reality by training a crop of erudite people with impeccable credentials in the art of Governance, What we want to achieve was to add value to Governance, to give everybody a sense of belonging, to exterminate corruption ( I mean an institutionalized corruption) .

Al-Makura identified the present oil doom as the major setback affecting the nation’s economy.
