The new commissioner of police posted to Adamawa State CP Musa Kimo has read the riot acts to violent herdsmen, armed robbers and other unscrupulous criminal elements in the state promising rout and disarm them.
The Adamawa State new commissioner of Police, Kimo who took over from CP Mohammed Ghazzali, while speaking to journalists in Yola on Monday, assured of the command’s readiness to crack down on criminal elements in the state through heavy deployment armed security personnel in trouble spots.
According to him, his coming to Adamawa is solely to ensure that the ultimate vision of the Nigerian Police Force to make every Nigerian and particularly the citizens of the state feel safe and more secured.
He said from the briefing he has received the challenge before him will be on how best to handle the recurrent clashes between fulani herdsmen and farmers clashes on the one hand and other unscrupulous criminal elements-kidnappers, cattle rustlers and armed robbers on the other.
“For the arms we are aware that some of these unscrupulous criminal elements are caring arms. But we will rely on everybody for intelligence and I assure you will rout them with such propensity and mop up the arms.
He also promised to encourage constructive engagements between local communities and cattle herders so as to foster mutual understanding and nip in the bud any possible clash between them.
“The era of sending few police personnel to riotous scene is over. Ours will be excruciatingly intimidating. It will be one of occupation”.
CP Musa Kibo was at one time Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command. He was until his recent present posting to Adamawa the Commissioner of Police, Adminstration, Department of Logistics and Supply Force Headquarters, Abuja. Kimo a Bachelor Degree holder of Political Science from Othman Dan Fodio University Sokoto joined the police force in 1986 as Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his present rank as Commissioner of Police.
