IGP Egbetokun Commissions New Ultra Modern Police Headquarters Complex

…….Urges Synergy Among Sister Agencies

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commissioned a new ultra-modern police headquarters complex in Yola, Adamawa State. This development is part of the IGP’s efforts to provide a conducive working environment and improve police personnel welfare.

During the commissioning ceremony, IGP Egbetokun emphasized the importance of professionalism in delivering services to the public, ensuring peace and tranquility among citizens.

Egbetokun described the new edifice as more than just a physical structure but a representation of commitment, service and protection of the community.

 While expressing gratitude for the support and cooperation received from the government and sister security agencies.

Kayode further urged for a more stronger collaboration between the sister agencies to combat criminal activities and protect the entire community.

Speaking earlier, Morris Dankombo Adamawa State Police Commissioner, (CP) lauded the IGP for the new complex, describing it as a project that addresses the challenge of office accommodation in the command.

He noted that Adamawa state is one of the north eastern states that has suffered security challenges, particularly boko haram insurgency, he stressed that the force has played a vital role in making sure that the state is safe, secured and conducive for both economic and social activities.

He called on the personnel to guard the facility jealously and requested the IGP’s assistance in addressing other challenges facing the command, including inadequate operational vehicles, manpower shortages, and dilapidated police barracks accommodations.

Also recanting some of the successes and achievements of the Command, Morris Dankombo said the command has recorded 60 cases in the year 2024 ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, farmers herders clashes, rape/defilement and other heinous crimes with 120 suspect arrest made.

He highlighted some of the recoveries of arms/ammunitions, stressing that 8 AK-47 rifles, 12 locally made pistols, 30 fabricated barrel guns, 97 6.72mm caliber of live ammunitions and 8 magazines of AK-47 rifles were recovered.

Morris Dankombo also appreciated the IGP for his commitment to the welfare of the officers and continued guidance, support and exemplary leadership, adding that the new police headquarters stand as a true reflection of the IGP’s vision for a better Nigerian police where every Command across the 36 states would have a conductive working environment.

The commissioning ceremony was preceded by a courtesy visit by the IGP to Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, the Lamido Adamawa.
