The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has summoned the State Urban Development Board (NUDB) to appear before the lawmakers for clarification over the abandoned 7Km Alkali-Kurikyo township road project awarded by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
This was under matter of public interest raised by Honorable Muhammed Muluku (PDP) representing Nasarawa Eggon North in the state Assembly, the Honorable member called for investigation for the veracity of the project.
Muluku lamented over the abandoned 7 kilometre township road executed by the current regime for the past five years, He expressed concern over the widespread rumor pointing fingers on the fourth Assembly as those that awarded the road contract.
The lawmaker who is the chairman House committee on Works, Housing and Transport in the fourth Assembly said investigation into the road project would erase doubt over those the handling the abandoned project.
The matter of public interest was overwhelmingly supported by all the lawmakers in the fourth Assembly, The Honorable members are Honorable,Godiya Akwashiki (PDP),The incumbent Deputy speaker, Muhammed Okpede (PDP) representing Doma north, Honorable Peter Mbucho (PDP) representing Akwanga North as well Muhammed Muluku.
The chairman House committee on Information, Honorable Makpa Mala (APC) In his submission raised fundamental issues on the abandoned Alkali-Kurikyo road, Hon.Mala expressed displeasure over the health hazard surrounding communities within the area.
“The dust within that axis is a great peril to the livelihood of the people”.
