26 Jigawa Indigenes Escaped Being Killed By Boko Haram In Baga, Borno By Umar Faruq Usman,Dutse

  • Returns Home Safely To Jigawa

The Commander Jigawa State Hisba Board Ustaz Aliyu Galamawa yesterday said that no fewer than 26 people of Jigawa State origin escaped being lynched by Boko Haram in Baga near Borno State returned home safely to the State Capital Dutse and were all received by Hisba Command, those received include men, women and children.

According to the Commandant he said the 26 persons who narrowly escaped were handed over to their Local Government Chairman and instantly taken back to their villages, he said those who were handed over are eleven people from Malam Madori Local Government and eleven people from Kafin Hausa Local Government.

He added that rest are from Maigatari who were handed over to the Chairman of Maigatari Local Government while the remaining other two people who are from Hadejia Local Government were also handed over to Hadejia Local Government Official  so as to take them back safely to their homes.

In a related development the Jigawa State Hisba Command said it has discovered cases of lost children and mentally people numbering up to a 150 persons who are roaming the streets Dutse the state capital from  January last year to date.

This was disclosed by the Commandant of the State Hisba Board Ustaz Aliyu Galamawa while addressing journalists yesterday in his office saying that his office has recorded 102 cases of girls and prostitutes with unwanted throughout the state and all the cases were treated through the Sharia Court.

He also added further that the Board has resolved marriage conflicts between spouses where at least 504 cases were treated without court interference by the board where all cases were resolved amicably, he also said that the board has organised Islamic preaching to educate Muslim throughout the state in the 136 places of worship.

Galamawa advices them to put more emphasis on their children education and give them good orientation even as he lamented that board is lacking in the area of funding that will enable them to discharge their duty effectively as that is one of the major thing that draw them back from carrying out their duty effectively.

The Commandant called on the state government to give their office financial support like standing order that will assist the Hisba committee to carried out their service like their sister state or even better than them assuring that the if they could get financial support monthly they will increase their operation to a greater level.

He thanked the state government for the consideration given to the committee by including the committee to various committees and as a working partner to all government activities in the state including the state executive council meeting.
