21,000 Apply For Recent Teachers Recruitment, 8000 Sat For Examination, 6000 Passed

The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr. Kasim Mohammed Kasim, has said 21,000 people have applied for the ongoing recruitment of teachers in the State.

He gave the hint during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at his office today (Tuesday). He said 21,000 applied for teaching in the ongoing recruitment of 1,000 teachers.

Adding that 18,000 sat for the examination, which was almost a NECO examination, he maintained that most of the candidate where not able to answer the questions.

“The recruitment is one with a difference; in essence, we need quality teachers but not politicians, is about changing the narrative in NSUBEB.

The NSUBEB Chairman called on communities in the State to take ownership of schools in their communities as their personal property.

He, however, urged Education Secretaries (E.S) to report any cases of destruction by windstorm in public schools to the Physical Planning Department.
