As part of ensuring that the most credible political party Candidates emerges winners in the Feb.16th/March 2nd, 2019 general elections in the country, especially in the South Eastern States, the “Association of Indigenous Imo Town Unions, AISITU”, was on Thursday,Feb.14th 2019 successfully held a-one-day Imo State Town Unions Summit with the theme: “The Role of Community Leaders in Enthronement of Good Governance”.
The summit which took place at the Banquet Hall of Owerri Hotel Plaza off Owerri/Portharcourt Road Owerri, attracted so many leaders especially political moguls, businessmen, women, youths and President Generals of various Autonomous Communities from across the South Eastern States who trooped out en masse to Owerri because of the summit.
The chief organizers of the event, High Chief Emeka Diwe, who is the National President of Imo Town Union Association, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of people from across the entire South, Eastern States, which described as a welcome development.
The event was graced, honored and very fruitful under the Chairmanship of Rev.Fr.Prof.Philip Anyaehie Ogbonna, as the chairman of the occasion, and a Keynote Address/Awardee, Barr.Chief Sir. Okey Ehieze, and so many other respected sons and daughters from the SouthEast extraction of the country, were all in attendance, which includes: “the BoT Chairman,Association of Imo State Indigenous Town Unions,Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu,the National Secretary of AISITU,Chiefs Monday Ikokwu (Ihudike),the Imo Guber under Accord Party,Chief Dr.Ikedi Ohakim,the Imo Guber Candidate of the Providence People’s Congress, PPC,Hon. Chidi Godwin Ofoegbu,(Okenwa 1 of Ihiagwa Owerri West),and MajorGeneral Nlemchukwu Chikwem,rtd,who is the National Secretary of the BoT of AISITU,the President General of Olu Owerri,Chief Martin Opara,others who also bagged award are: Chief Johnbosco Ozigbu,(Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga of Abba Nwangele LGA of Imo State),Sir. Stanley Chidoziem Amuchie, of Imo APGA Guber,Chief Chuks Onyebuchi(Brain Box), High Chief Amb.Ikenna Aniche,(Nkenke Enyi 1-12), and Prince Engr.Onyeukwu Chris Okoroafor,(Kpakpando Mbu-Etiti), amongst other revered Imo sons and daughters too numerous to mention.
