2015: Delta Elders Rally Support For Olejeme; Say She Is A Symbol Of Change
Delta elders and leaders, Thursday, resolved to rally support for the chairman, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme.
They also urged Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi to ensure that the zoning arrangement in the state was perfected.
Meeting under the aegis of Delta Political Leaders and Elders Forum (DPLAEF) Thursday in Abuja, the group described Dr. Olejeme as a symbol of unity, change and qualitative leadership.
‘Olejeme values the unity, stability and orderly development of Delta State” the forum said.
Spokesperson of the DPLAEF, Chief Collins Elunor in a statement issued after the meeting stressed that Olejeme’s decision to contest the governorship election in the state was born out of her desire to promote and sustain democratic institution and also use her vast experiences to promote good governance in the state.
“Olejeme is an embodiment of hard work, knowledge and industry. She is the face of integrity and resourcefulness. She is also the best chance for the Anioma people to attain the Delta governorship and the most suitable person to lead the state after the tenure of Dr. Uduaghan” the statement said.
Promising good and passable roads, affordable health care, sound education, employment, industries and security, the forum said Olejeme would set a new standard in the development of the state.
“Olejeme will maintain a stable and peaceful state, promote social justice and protect groups that for various reasons are politically weak. She will also embark on aggressive development of the state and regularly consult the elders, women, youth, traditional rulers and others on how to move the state forward”
They urged Deltans at home and abroad, particularly the good people of Aniocha, Ika and Ndokwa to line up behind her.
“We need a governor with exceptional qualities and proven records of service. Olememe is a touch bearer and is very determined to work for the general well-being of Deltans” the statement added.
