The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) suffered a major setback ahead of the general elections, when during the weekend, over 150 members of the PDP  decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The decamped members were received into the APC in Karshi community of council by stakeholders of the APC, which included the senatorial candidate of the party for FCT seat,  Sen. Sidi Ali and the contestant for AMAC/Bwari seat at National Assembly, Hon. Isa Dara.
The FCT State chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, commended the decampees for their action, which he described as the best towards actualizing a better Nigeria, saying that APC is the party to beat across Nigeria during the 2015 general elections.
Usman further promised the new members of the APC, that the party would accord them equal and fair treatment which the older members of the party are enjoying.
He said the APC was out to salvage Nigeria and expressed optimism that it would win the 2015 general elections both at the national and at the FCT levels.
“More people will soon join the APC and we will collectively work to ensure the success of the party at all levels during the forthcoming general polls. Those who claim to be representing us at the National Assembly are either deaf, dumb or could not understand the English spoken at the National Assembly.
“I want to encourage the residents to use their voters cards to remove the PDP and their candidates in the FCT, because they are only there for their pockets and they have become messengers to a minister of the FCT that is appointed, not elected by our people. It is time to change them for the future of our children” he said.
Also speaking, Sen. Sid Ali, contesting for the FCT senate said the decampees will experience equity and justice in the APC, adding that since he left the senate seat for his successor Sen. Philip Aduda, nothing have been done for the interest of the residents and seat have remained silent.
A spokesman of the decampees, Alhaji Jibril Abdullahi, said their action was spurred by the tremendous achievements of the APC in the states won by the party, that they have seen light in the APC and its no longer a politic of fight, because with candidates provided by the party they know PDP will be defeated in the FCT come 2015 election.

Amongst the former PDP members who decamped to the APC includes, Alhaji Jibril Abdullahi, Hon. Tanko Baba-Karshi, Sulemanu Marwa, the four youth leader of the PDP in the FCT, and Hajia Hadiza Muhammed, the former women of leader the PDP in the FCT.
