The Bauchi state commissioner of works and transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, urged the contractor handling the 11km GSS Ningi-Gudduba road dualisation project in the state to ensure that quality work is done.
He stated this when he paid an inspection visit to the construction site, advising the contractor to ensure the timely completion of the project.
Ketkukah stressed that the timely completion of the project will reduce traffic and accidents within Ningi metropolis, making motorists traveling from Bauchi to Kano move faster to reach their destination on time.
The commissioner also appealed to the good people of the Ningi local government to massively support the constructors during the work by encouraging them.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for awarding the project, which he added, will, apart from beautifying the place, decongest traffic.
The Commissioner also inspected the culvert in Bauchi-Kano Road near Ganjuwa – Ningi Local Government Areas boundary (Kona Alewa) that has a problem of erosion to control.
He recommended measures to MotherCat Nig. Ltd and Chairman Ganjuwa Local Govt on how to control the erosion.
Responding, the Principal Resident Engineer, Iliyasu Sulaiman, thanked the Commissioner for the inspection, said that the dualisation of the road was awarded by Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of the State during the duration of 18-month dry season.
Sulaiman assured the Commissioner that by God’s grace, the work will be one hundred percent done in November.
