The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Southern Senatorial District of Plateau State, Hon. Youmpee. S. Jalmet has passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Hon. Hanatu Gagara as the state chairperson of the party by calling on the supporters to accord her the maximum cooperation to pilot the affairs of the state.
Jalmet made this known in an exclusive interview with our medium at Joseph Gwomwalk House, the Nigeria Standard building, Jos North Local Government Area.
He disclosed that he has an ambition of contesting for Plateau Southern Senatorial District under the platform of ADC come 2027, with a promise to provide dividends of democracy to farmers, market men, and women, also empowering the youth.
Youmpee explained further that ADC, under the stewardship of Mrs. Hanatu Gagara, had continued to witness overwhelming support from the grassroots, we are seeing her as the unifier and team leader.
He said that the national leadership had already recognized Mrs Hanatu Gagara as the state chapter chairman of the party, so we are appealing for our stakeholders to build synergy between her and the party rank and file.
Youmpee stressed that the party welcomed Dr Peter Obi and the Obidient Movement into the ADC family, as the only strong political party to clinch the 2027 Plateau State and Nigeria, we hope to deliver the desired votes.
He vowed that ADC would remain one of the strongest opposition parties to beat APC. We are looking for more people, as our ideology is attracting more defectors.
Jalmet said that ADC is not afraid of seeing governors defecting to APC, but we saw what happened during the late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, where he won the presidential election without any structure on the ground, so we expressed confidence in winning all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria with the overwhelming support of the electorate.
According to him, the ADC in Plateau State chapter had made the right choice of people at the helm of affairs towards promoting the party to an enviable high, so if given the mandate come 2027 Nigerian should sleep.
Youmpee charged the electorate, especially farmers, to vote wisely for a credible candidate with the sole aim of encouraging togetherness and shunning the politics of bitterness.
He pointed out that if given the mandate in 2027, he would provide soft loan reduce prices of fertilizer, school fees, and provide dams to upgrade their standard of living, especially the southern community, who are predominantly agrarian.
Youmpee condemned the destruction and incessant attacks in the villages, as he advocated for state police to reach all the nooks and crannies of the country.
He added that he has a good plan for the good people of the southern geopolitical zone to revisit vulnerable displaced communities by equipping them with farm stools, which are capable of transforming them into small to medium enterprise
