Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun, has been described as the worst Governor that Plateau has ever had, the Special Adviser to Governor Lalong on Media, Dan Manjang said this in a statement.
Speaking the Plateau state government through Manjang described Ambassador Tapgun statement as regrettable when his administration in 1993 remains the worst Governor the State ever had in the history of the state since the creation of the state in 1976, as he left without any legacy left behind.
The special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Affairs, Hon .Dan Manjang who responded to a story credited to the former governor on his alleged seeking for forgiveness from PDP stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party in Jos.
According to Mangang, Tapgun as a former governor should have check his comment as a senior citizen and elder on his own right ,Tapgun should have respected himself not to credit Lalong’s victory to himself.
Manjang; “the former governor with due respect to you, you’re the worst governor plateau state ever had, please check very well there is no legacy that is attached to you”.
According to him, Tapgun has been a minister, ambassador and has held key positions in government but no single legacy from him that reflected in the lives of the people of Plateau state.
The former governor and his co- host masterminded the crisis in PDP in 1998 till date, “so consider you as a liability, also a wet blanket without legacy that didn’t reflect in the common interest of the people of the state,” Manjang said.
Manjang lamented that, Tapgun sold the only legacy of the state, the BARC farm which governor Simon Bako Lalong is making frantic effort to recover its back with the meager resources he is getting.
He pointed out that plateau state is not the worst in the list of 36 states in the area of salary payment but it is disheartening at this period that Tapgun who has nothing to show for performance can challenge the present regime which has done a lot in settling workers’ salary.
Manjang charged Tapgun to reflect on the leadership of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar , Chief Joshua Dariye and Sen. Jonah David Jang especially the Lar regime that introduced cottage hospitals across Plateau /Nasarawa state and many other projects that littered across .
He added the chief Joshua Dariye left many legacy to plateau people, as he said the defection of Dariye has reduced the number of senators to two ,so even if it is one vote from him, that vote is very vital to APC government.
Despite wanton destruction of lives and properties in Jang government he still recorded great achievements, but we advised Tapgun who derailed to stop misleading the people of Plateau state with fallacy and foul allegations were he ruled with impunity.
“We are happy with his action so I see PDP as an Assembly of dead fellows in Plateau state because when elders like Tapgun can speak evil against a sitting government, then it clearly spell doom in their statement “,he added.
He reiterated that governor Simon Lalong will still win in 2019 with landslides victory even with the reckless comment made by the Tapgun, as he added that God who gave Lalong the winning victory will still do same.
Manjang prayed that God will repeat the victory of APC in plateau state and Nigeria come 2019 , as he said Plateau Northern senatorial district is yet to have senator ,as he said Jang ,Gemade are a big disgrace to the people of middle-belt in the hallow chamber.
However, added that Gemade and Jang are sleeping senators, who do sleep during the proceedings and he also said that Tapgun didn’t work for APC in 2015 general elections because he represented the defunct PDP 2 and Lalong came on board as a result of Plateau project.
“We want Tapgun to realize that his one vote alone cannot guarantee the victory of the party, Tapgun vied for gubernatorial seat in plateau state and lost gallantly to GNS Pwajok (late), so Fidelis Tapgun is a drowning man who has lost political relevance completely in the state.
Manjang maintained that business activities has bounced back, people can be seen doing their daily affairs without molestation now, no more killing of innocent Civilians in the state courtesy of Lalong government of peace building.
“Please tell former governor Jonah David Jang that the people of Plateau state are not represented in upper chamber of the bi-camera legislature.
