Women Cry Out To Jonathan On Rural Dwellers By Yakubu Wuyep, Jos

Association of concerned women has expressed dismay over the inability the federal government and the government of Kaduna,Plateau ,Borno ,Yobe and Adamawa states  to address the hardship being faced by the rural dwellers.

The association of concerned Women in Nigeria also urged federal government to step up efforts to improve on the security of the nation .

The women group in all the affected states   comprising of five states including 8 LGAs Kachia, kagorko, kaura, Kauru, Jaba, Jama’a, Sanga and Zongon Kataf otherwise known as southern Kaduna zone made this observation during a well attended meeting of Christian and Muslim Women.

The meeting which was  convene by the concerned CSOs and KYB of the zone recently observed that, that despite the  good works and good intentions of  present administration  at all levels to improve the standard of living and advance development in Kaduna, Plateau, Borno, Adamawa ,Yobe and other states  and Nigeria at large, under the leadership of Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and President Goodluck Eble Jonatan;  the living condition of in the rural areas has gone worse.

The women group who attended the meeting were highly placed women from different professional bodies of teachers, church leaders (national and local), civil servants, administrators, marketers, medical and health professionals, development workers, civil societies, farmers and community advocates.

Our correspondent gathered that the women intensively analysed the general conduct of leaders in authority, frowning at the low involvement of women participation in decision making.

They also observed that youths, the elderly and women were not being carried along by the present administration as is supposed to be.

They also urge government to step up efforts to improve on the security of  zone three of Kaduna state and the nation at large.
