No fewer than five buildings in Isa Mustapha Agwai!, Polytechnic, Lafia were ravaged by a windstorm-like hurricane last week.
The affected structures include the administrative block of the institution following a heavy downpour that triggered the destruction.
Other structures that were affected by the windstorm are the Schools of Environmental, and Architectural Technology, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, hostels, electric poles, Polytechnic Library Annex among others.
The acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Nurudeen Maifata will embark on an Inspection buttressed that the windstorm has wreaked havoc on the institution’s facilities.
He in addition explained that necessary action would be taken to contain future recurrence, saying the management is working round the clock to work out modalities to find everlasting solutions to the tragic windstorm.
Acting Rector was accompanied by his management staff including Deans and Directors of the Polytechnic, Dr.Nurudeen expressed readiness to address the damage caused swiftly in order not to stall academic and administrative activities in the institution.
