I Will Reverse The Sales Of State Assets By Governor Al-Makura If Elected As Governor Of Nasarawa State In 2019
In spite of the reactions by people of Nasarawa State in the new media over the sales of states assets cut across, Jos, Kaduna, Lagos, Abuja and Lafia, the state capital ,the erstwhile minister of information, Labaran Maku has advised banks and individuals having interest in the sales of state assets to forget their interest or lost their resource.
Maku stated this during a press briefing at his country home in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where he assured electorate that he would reverse the sales if elected into power.
Maku Said he will not remain mute when the legacies of the founding fathers of the state are no longer in existence, “Nigeria Newsday is death,” Nasarawa “On the Move” is death, Lafia Hotel is gone, NIPDC is going, Conference is also going Including our landed properties in Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, Jos and the state capital.
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the last election also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the rescue of the state by persuading governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to hands-off the sales of state assets.
Stating that the governor’s act is one act too much to be endured, Saying the state governor is auctioning the future of generation yet unborn.
Maku in addition said Nasarawa State would soon be plunged into untold hardship,the APGA governorship contender also described the act as trachery and promised to strengthen the company if given the mandate to governed the state.
“That is what is expected of a responsible and serious government to do for the future of the state to lease the company for some years and later on give it back to the state”.
“Nasarawa Investment and Property Development Company is the best company having the largest plot of land and site that the state would rely on “.
“Al-Makura instead of focusing on what will generate money to the state is busy going up and down because of airport project situated at his country home of kwandare”.
“The white elephant project called airport is in Kwandare, we also learnt that is constructing road from Kwandare to Garaku linking part of the Federal Capital Territory”
He said the intention of current administration was meant to sidelined people of Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and other road users from that axis.
