The All Progressive Congress APC Bauchi State Appeal Committee has today rejected a petition submitted before the panel by a lawyer during its first sitting in Bauchi.
The leader of the Appeal committee Alhaji Kasim Mabo Mohammed disclosed this during the media press briefing with newsmen at the APC Secretariat in Bauchi.
Mabo, said that the rejection of the petition by the committee was a result of evolving of a legal practitioner layer into the party in-house affairs which was against the party guidelines and policies for submission of petitions by aggrieved members.
“Our position was made clear on why we rejected the petition from the member’s lawyer with a view to following the laydown procedure of the party guidelines as stipulated in the constitution.
He added the “We rejected the petition brought to us by a lawyer representing the aggrieved members on the grounds that it’s an internal affair, and we believe we can solve the issue within the party, not by involving any legal practitioner into the matter for now.
The chairman, therefore, appealed to all members to note that the party is supreme and above any member, hence the need for every contestant to abide by the party’s guidelines and procedures.
The State APC chairman who was represented by his deputy Alhaji Mohammed Hassan Tilde in his speech said the state party will give the appeal committee all the necessary support towards their responsibilities been given to them.
