Senior Special Assistant to Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar on Political Organizations, Isah Abouh Yusuf, has lambasted the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG) Alhaji Bello Shehu Ilelah, Chief of Staff, Architect Audu Sule Katagum and other principal officers of Governor M A Abubakar describing them as selfish and self- centered officials who do not protect the interests of the Governor or add any value to Governor M A’s administration, according to thepolitico.com.ng.

In an open letter to the Governor, whose copy was made available to The Politico, the Governor’s Aide described the SSG as an opportunist who is hell bent on dragging the good image of the administration in the mud, saying that “he is not a politician, where was he when we were with Governor M A through thick and thin during electioneering ”.

The letter further quoted Yusuf as saying “ don’t feel bad or take it personal, I am just trying to restore the battered image of the administration that you people have caused”.

The aide also took a swipe on the chief of staff to the Governor, Arc. Katagum saying that he does not perform his duties the way he should. “Your are always giving the excuse of your office being under-funded as the cause of your dismal performance as chief of staff to the Governor, while I am very much aware of the funding that is coming through your office”, Yusuf said.

The Governor’s Aide also accused the COS of being selective of who should see the Governor even if one has a valid reason for wanting to see the chief executive. “The chief of staff barricades people with good intention for the state from seeing the Governor because he is scared the Governor may warm up to them after seeing what they can offer for the progress and development of the state and thereby exposing the ineptitude of the COS”.

Yusuf also accused some other political appointees in the administration for not adding value to Governor Abubakar’s government. “with some of us, it is always about what is in there for us and our families, conveniently forgetting about the larger society”.

In the same letter, Yusuf advised the Governor to go back to the drawing board and carry along those who believed and stood by him before he became the Governor. He also advised that the Governor, as the father to all in the state, should mend fences with all aggrieved political class both within and outside the state for the progress of Bauchi.

It could be recalled that Yusuf was an ardent critic of Governor M A’s administration before he was wooed back into the administration some six months ago.
