Umudibia Nekede Passes  Vote Of No Confidence On 54-Year-Old Chief Ibekwe  Having Spent Over 15 Years As Youth President

A 54-year-old man, Hon. Chief Chukwuma Ibekwe, who is the Youth President of Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, has been rejected and dishonored with an unopposed Votes of No Confidence award from the entire youths of Umudibia commune.

The parliamentarian motion from the Youth-Wing of the Community represented a lack of confidence in the leadership of the Youth President which some of the aggrieved youths of the Umudibia have collectively described as overdue.

The youths who expressed dissatisfaction with the ugly leadership of Chief Ibekwe hinted that his incessant tenure elongation has elapsed and that his mandate has recorded huge failure, as they added that  Ibekwe’s rulership has long expired.

They, therefore, frowned at the tenure which they tagged as ‘sit-tight syndrome.

The youths at their parliamentarian summit jointly dissolved the government of the embattled Youth President, Chief Ibekwe, in accordance with their motion for impeachment as enacted.

The Press Statement available to newsmen, reads, ” We, the entire youths of Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community after our gathering at the summit held at the Umudibia Primary School on Saturday, October.23rd 2021, strictly moved the motion for the Vote of No Confidence on Chief Chukwuma Ibekwe”.

“That, Chief Chukwuma emerged as the Youth President of our Community- Umudibia since 2006/2007 till date (2021).

That, it is very unlawful and unacceptable for Chukwuma to remain in the position as Youth President for the past 15 years ( if not up to 17 years).

That, he (Chief Chukwuma) has been obviously accused of misappropriation of youth funds, misuse of public funds officially mapped out for our community’s infrastructural development (projects) as fingered.

That his continued abuse of the office of the Youth President has been put to a halt, sequel to the vote of no confidence slammed on him by the youths of Umudibia.

That, the no-confidence-motion voted against Chukwuma was moved by the youths of Umudibia, Comr. Chukwudi Mgbeosuru, and that the motion was seconded by Comr. Ugochukwu Opara, aka Oriewu, was enacted and affected by the mandates of the youths.

That, the youths of Umudibia Nekede are tired of the impunity and negative styles of leadership which have led to the obvious underdevelopment, insecurity, and other social vices as encouraged under Chief Ibekwe’s watch in our community.

That, the federation of Umudibia Nekede Youths is peaceful, accommodating, and hard-working youths who believe in ideologies, policies, and leadership mantra of the government of the day.

That, we are calling on the Shared Prosperity Government of Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, to intervene before it is too late.

It could be recalled that the entire youths of Umudibia Nekede have jointly passed a Vote of No Confidence on a 54-year-old Youth President, Chief Ibekwe, who has been in the position for more than 15 years as President of the Youths of the Community.

Our Newsman who stormed Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community recently as part of investigative journalism confirmed that the embattled Youth President, Chief Chukwuma is 54 years old still fighting, struggling, and tussling as a youth, which has triggered the youths to form a coalition against his sit-tight-syndrome.

Our Reporter who went on an investigative sojourn into the community uncovered that the Traditional Ruler of Umudibia Nekede Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Godwin Onyewuchi Merenini, kept deaf ears on continued agitations by the Youth-Body for the removal of Chief Ibekwe as Youth President due to his alleged financial inducement from Chief Chukwuma.

It was furthermore gathered that the embattled 54-year-old Umudibia Youth President have supposedly enriched himself with developmental levies and funds which frequently get to the youth account from developers, investors, and from the management of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, but was allegedly converted to a private account of the troubled Youth President.

To this end, the aggrieved youths of Umudibia have therefore resolved to organize a fresh election so as to elect credible persons as youth executives as such would enhance rapid development, curb insecurity and foster peace amongst the youths of Umudibia Nekede.

Recalled that all those elected as Umudibia Nekede Community Youth Executives have duly served out, whereas many have resigned, but the 54 years old Chief Chukwuma have vowed never to unseat from that position, even if heaven wants to fall.

But, still, on information gathering, the youths of Umudibia Nekede Community in their voices and actions have collectively expressed readiness to ensure a successful free, fair and credible election be conducted for the youth body in no distant time.

Meanwhile, Chukwuma when contacted on his telephone number to get his own chronicle of the vote of no confidence passed against his office responded that he is not interested to speak on the issue to any journalist.
