Two Syndicates Arrested For Printing N16 Million Counterfeit Money In Plateau

A group of syndicates who specialized in Illegal printing of counterfeits of One thousand naira notes were arrested and paraded in Plateau State with the fake notes already in circulation in the market.

 

The Plateau State Police Command arrested two men with thirty (30) bundles and fourteen (14) half bundles of one thousand naira (N 1,000).

 

The Commissioner of Police, CP Isaac Akinmoyede who paraded the suspects that is one Isa Ibrahim 30yrs ‘m’ of Mayobelwa, Adamawa State and one Danjuma Yilbis 38yrs ‘m’ of Ron, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State.

 

He said the two suspects the case of unlawful possession of counterfeit currency were arrested  on 30 / 08 / 19 at about 1500hrs while acting on a reliable and timely intelligence, detectives of the Command swung into action and they were apprehended .

 

 

Four (4) suspects in a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and receiving stolen property were arrested on 10/08/2019 at about lOOOhrs, one Joe Black ‘m’ of Tudun Wada Jos reported at the Rantya Police Division that on 09/08/2019 at about 1930hrs, unknown persons broke into his Computer Games Shop located at Dong area of Jos South LGA and made away with the following items viz :1.

 

Two units of 32 Inches Plasma LG Television 2. One (1) Stabilizer 3. Three (3) SP Games and 4. One (1) Wall Fan values not yet known.

 

 

As a result of diligent investigation, detectives of the Command on 17/08/2019 at about 1600hrs arrest one Victor Dogara and Isah Auta both ‘m’ of Gada Biu, Jos. His Interrogation led to the arrest of one Kenneth Oche ‘m’ of Utang area of Jos North LGA and one

 

 

Zaradeen Abdul-Karim ‘m’ of Dclimi in Joe North LGA. During the search of the residences of the above named suspects, the followmg exhibits were recovered; 1. One ( 1) Locally made Pistol 2. No (2) Live Canndgcs ammunition. Investigation in in progress at the end of which suspects W1“ be charged to court.

 

Also  three (3) suspects were arrested  in a case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. On 1 1/8/2019 at about 22001111, one Alh. Abdullahi Umar of Ganuwa Village In Wase LGA reported at the Wase Divisional Headquarters that his brother one Dahiru Umar ‘m’ 23yrs was robbed of his Boxers motorcycle valued at two hundred and twenty-five thousand Naira (N225,000) along Wase/ Lanba Road by unknown gunmen.

 

 

He stated further that the gunmen in the process of the robbery shot at the victim and his elder brother one Abubakar Muhammed ‘m’ of the same address. An investigation into the case led to the arrest of the following suspects 1. Babale Bala 2. Ladip Phillip 3. Babawuro Manga.

 

The suspects have confessed to the committing of the crime and shall be charged to court very soon.

 

Arrest of five (5) suspects in a case of criminal conspiracy and trafficking in person. On 23/08/2019 at about 1900hrs, one Chidi Daniel ‘m’ of Jenta Mangoro, Jos North DGA reported at ‘A’ Division, Jos that on 31/07/2019, his wife one Rose Adams 25yrs ‘i’ of the same address left his house for Dadin Kowa, Jos with two of his children; Chinedu Daniel 1 yr 8 months and Chibuike Daniel 1 month old both male

 

He stated further that his wife returned home on 23/08/2019 with only Chinedu Daniel. When he inquired of Chibuike, his wife told him that she gave the child to a woman that works with Voice for the Girl Child Foundation.

 

 

Juvenile Welfare Centre (JWC) of the division upon investigation discovered that the child was sold to one Christiana Ochuba ‘f‘ age 32 yrs of Bright Way area of Rukuba Road, Jos. Police meticulous investigation led to the arrest of the following:1. Rose Adams 25 yrs 2. Mildred Bakwo 34 yrs 3. Lisa Yelkopba 35 yrs 4. Fatima Abdul 20 yrs 5. Christiana Ochuba 32 yrs. All the suspects are female.

 

They will be charged to court according to their involvements in the illegal trade.

 

Arrest of one (1) notorious cultist in a case of unlawful possession of firearms. On 01/09/2019 at about 1045hrs, the Operatives of ‘A’ Division arrested one Benjamin Stephen ‘m’ of Gada Biu, Jos with a locally made revolver pistol. Our suspect Benjamin Stephen has been fingered in most of the cult related activities at Gada Biu and Kabong Area of Jos North LGA.

 

An investigation is ongoing to establish the source of the weapon. The suspect will be charged to court as soon as possible.

Recovery of firearms and ammunition. On 02/09/2019 at about 0005hrs, the Police operatives at Pinau Village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State while on foot patrol sighted a motorcyclist carrying a person who was bearing an AK47 rifle. When they saw the Police personnel approaching them , they abandoned the AK47 rifle with number 01968 and speed off with the motorcycle.

 

The firearm has been recovered and the investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects to know their mission.
